1.
What is the process?
After
discussing what you would
like on your website, the
content, the style, we will
go over with you the different
options available, a flat
project fee, and the
development time necessary.
You may fill out the
Web

any materials you have that
you would like to be on
your website; you may send

through our Online

would like to specify specific
colors for your website,
you may use the Online

progress will be put online
at a special URL address
for you to view at different
intervals and request any
changes. Once the website
is designed and developed
we can set up your web hosting

to questions
2.
What do I need to have my
website online?
First,
you need a website developed,
programmed, and designed.
You will also need a domain
name such as wwww.yourname.com
and website hosting
to actually have your website
online. RE designs can develop
your website and set up
everything for you, from
the design and programming
to the domain name and website
hosting, and even your emails,
such as yourname@yourwebsite.com
.
back
to questions
3.
How much will my website
cost me?
The
cost of your website depends
on many factors including:
number of pages, amount
of content, amount of complexity,
how much interactivity with
the users--such as message
boards, tag boards, chat
rooms etc., online forms,
flash or animation, if it's
an e-commerce website where
visitors can purchase items,
number of options shopping
cart has, number ot items
you are selling and the
variations of each item
(such as color, size, etc.)
. Beside the design/development
of your website you
will also need to purchase
a domain name and
website hosting,
both of which can be purchased
through RE designs; we can
set it up and configure
it for you as well. We can
work with your budget and
discuss your options. For
a free quote/consultation
fill out our online Web
Quotes Form.

4.
Can RE designs still
develop my website even
if I'm not local?
Sure,
no problem! All materials
you would like to send for
inclusion in your website
can easily be sent through
our Online
File Upload Form
or through email. Throughout
the process of the development
of your website, you can
give your input. We will
discuss online or by phone
your budget and what you
would on your website, features,
etc. As your website
is being developed, you
can view the progress online
at a special URL and request
changes as well. It
is not necessary at all
for you to be local.

to questions
5.
How should I send my materials
for my website?
You
can send your materials
through our Online
File Upload Form
or through email. You may
also fax them at (650) 342-5114
if you prefer.
back
to questions
6.
What kind of website hosting
will I need?
The
kind of website hosting
you will need depends on
the type of website you
have, how big it is, how
much traffic you will need
to go in and out of your
website and whether it is
an e-commerce website.
If you plan on selling items
on your website and would
like to accept credit cards,
you will need a secure
server, in order to
protect the users' privacy.
Features of the website
hosting we can set up
for you include 5 GB
disk space (which is
enough for about 50,000
web pages), 150 GB data
transfer (bandwidth)
per month (which should
handle about 50,000 unique
visitors daily), and unlimited
number of visitors accessing
your website and unlimited
number of web pages
that are viewed. If you
require increased disk space
or data transfer, we can
also set that up for you
as well.
back
to questions
7.
How long will it take for
my website to be developed?
The
development time depends
on the size and complexity
of your website. We will
provide you with an expected
completion time along with
your flat project fee.
Expedited development of
your website is also available
for rush projects.
Generally, simple websites
containing up to 5 pages
take about a week, more
complex websites such as
8-10 pages with interactive
features such as message
boards, tag boards, online
forms, complex effects such
as flash animation, etc.
can take about 6-10 days
for completion.
back
to questions
8.
What about the graphics
and video for my website--can
you provide them or format
them as well?
Yes,
we can provide and create
the graphics for
your website, including
any flash animation,
graphics animation, and
video. You may also
send the materials--graphics,
video, etc.--you already
have for inclusion in your
website. If the graphics
or video is not in the correct
format, we can format it
for you, as well as crop,
fix the coloring, lighting,
etc., for you.
back
to questions
9.
How will people find my
website?
Once
your website is designed
and developed, we can configure
your web hosting
to have your website
online. Then, users
will be able to access your
website by typing in your
domain name (i.e. www.yourwebsitename.com)
in the search engines. Your
website can also be found
by online surfers
searching for certain
key words in the search
engines and clicking
on your website when it
falls within their search.
When your website is
optimized and submitted
to search engines,
your website will be searchable
in this way once the search
engines have "spidered"
or gone through your web
pages.

10.
I would like to sell items
online. What are my options
for a shopping cart?
Your
shopping cart can
be customized to
suit your needs. You can
accept online credit
card payments, payments
via check, or have
them print the order and
mail it to you along with
their payment. The credit
card info can be sent to
you directly before being
processed and you can process
and charge the card yourself,
or the shopping cart may
be configured to be connected
to a payment gateway
systems such as PayPal
or WorldPay so that
they can charge the credit
card for you. The shopping
cart will add all the costs
for the user, including
shipping and handling
charges and taxes,
if any. The shipping and
handling costs can be calculated
based on location as well
as number of items purchased,
weight of items, or type
of delivery requested, such
as Ground Mail, or Priority,
or Express, etc. Tax can
be calculated based on the
location of the shopper.
You may display your
items for sale as small
thumbnail pictures
that can be enlarged, and
include a description as
well as different variations/choices
for each item (such as color,
size, etc.). We can format
the pictures for you, as
well as fix the sizing,
lighting, etc. For more
information, please check
out the e-commerce section
of the web design &
development page to get
your catalog online.

Videos:
1.
Are the videos made for
special occassions, such
as for weddings / birthdays
/ bar/bat mitzvahs, like
slideshows?
If
you would like, they could
be like a regular slideshow,
or some variation of a slideshow.
Or, we can use more complex
technique and use the pictures
to make it seem more like
a video--not just a slideshow.
Techniques we use include,
zooming in/out, picture
order, type, moving across
the pictures, etc. There
is an intro of a wedding
video shown as an example
on the videos
page; for privacy issues
the full version is not
available online.This video
includes custom graphics
and animation as well, and
text and audio too.
back
to questions

Can you incorporate pictures
with video as well?
Sure,
just send the materials
through the Online

or through your

your video and certain pictures.
back
to questions
5.
Do you make videos for the
web as well?
Sure,
even your video that is
made for the screen can
be reformatted to be viewable
on the web (got to videos
page for example). Videos
can also be made solely
for the web, to illustrate
your company, club, to visitors,
etc.
back
to questions
6.
Will the picture quality
be good enough for enlarging
for viewing on a large screen,
like for at a wedding?
Yes,
we have the best video quality
on the market. To ensure
picture quality with high
enough resolution for enlarging
on the screen at a big event
such as a wedding, we request
that pictures submitted
for inclusion in the video
be at least 300 dpi; pictures
with lower resolutions such
as 150 dpi may also work,
depending on the specific
photo.
back
to questions
7.
What format will the end-product
video be provided as--a
dvd? How can it be played?
If
you have requested a video
for viewing on the screen,
you will be provided with
2 dvd copies of your video.
You can play it on all computers
with a dvd player, as well
as dvd players hooked up
to your tv. For viewing
on the screen, you will
need to hook up a projector
to your computer/laptop,
and your video will be enlarged
and viewable on screen as
it is playing on your computer.
You may have to adjust the
colors/brightness/contrast
on your computer screen
and/or projector for best
results, just as you would
your television. Videos
for the web will be formatted
in the type necessary for
your website (such as quicktime
video, realplay, etc.).
back
to questions
8.
How much do the videos cost?
The
cost of your video depends
on the size, amount of pictures/video,
length of video, and amount
of complexity desired. We
will provide you with a
flat project rate after
we have discussed your project
and your different options.
We can work with you on
your budget.
